Ian McIntosh

Big Mountain

Big mountain skier Ian McIntosh grew up in an avid ski family in the mountain town of Invermere, BC. At 19 he moved to Whistler, British Columbia to pursue a career in skiing, at first through the big mountain contest circuit. After making a name for himself with his second place finish at the Verbier Extreme, Ian earned a place on the TGR crew in 2006. In his inaugural season filming with TGR, he earned first part in Anomaly and a Powder Award for Breakthrough Performance. Since then he’s continued filming with TGR year after year annihilating big technical lines and earning accolades as recently as 2011 with his Best Line award for Light The Wick.

Ian has overcome serious injuries in past years including harrowing 1,600-foot fall down an AK face while filming for Paradise Waits in 2015. He continues charging on screen while also pursuing his guiding license to continue a life in the mountains.
