Markus Eder

Freeskiing

Italian freestyle skier Markus Eder came up as a ski racer in the Italian Alps before discovering freeskiing and breaking onto the global scene with his 2010 big air champion win at the Nine Knights contest. He came into the contest as an unknown rookie and went on to beat Europe’s most accomplished freeskiers landing a doublecork 1260 off the massive big air jump. He followed that with more big wins including a second place finish at Red Bull Linecatcher the following year and the World Heli Challenge after that, showing that he was equally adept in the park and the steeps.

In the process, his skiing caught the eye of the Matchstick Productions crew. He made the absolute most of the opportunity to slay big lines alongside Cody Townsend and Richard Permin in his inaugural trip to Alaska, which became his breakout part in Days of My Youth. He followed with another landmark part in Fade To Winter and continues the streak with this year’s release of Ruin And Rose. and potential that only comes with youth.
