Smith’s Hybrid Shell construction combines separate lightweight and durable shells to create an entirely new helmet category. By fusing our tough Bombshell ABS construction with flyweight In-Mold™ technology, our Hybrid Shell construction optimizes the favorable traits of each material in the revolutionary process. The result is a modern design that provides a lightweight, low-profile, perfect fitting helmet. Hybrid Shell construction also creates a clean, smooth top surface by enabling the low profile Regulator to function with reduced mass and volume.

Advancing our construction process for 2011, we have created new Super Light or “SL” engineered parts. Each SL item has been minimized to the extreme while maintaining durability and part integrity in order to reduce weight and increase comfort.

X-STATIC LINING® – THE SILVER FIBER
X-Static is a silver coated textile fiber that enhances products with permanent and natural anti-odor, anti-static and thermo-dynamic properties.
- ANTI-ODOR: X-Static provides the most powerful antimicrobial and odor elimination system available by using pure silver to inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria and fungi. X-Static is also the only product that binds with and neutralizes odor-causing ammonia and denatured proteins. Clinically proven to eliminate 99.9% of harmful micro-organisms within hours of exposure.
- REGULATES TEMPERATURE: X-Static has the best possible thermodynamic properties that are capable of heat transfers, so you will stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

EVOLVE X-STATIC® LINING
A full feature X-Static fabric that maintains its high level of performance while being ecologically friendly by using sustainable and renewable raw materials. Evolve X-Static is initially made by blending up to 50% recycled silver with other recycled materials to create a performance fabric that is 3.7% X-Static and 96.3% recycled polyester. Fabrics are then recycled at the end of their lifecycle to recover the silver content for further use. Evolve X-Static has earned the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 approval, which certifies that they support human ecology through biocompatibility and the absence of harmful substances in the manufacturing process.
