Ask Janelle

If you could spend a day with any other SMITH athlete, who would it be and why?

Taylor Lundquist. She has some amazing style and skis street, which is so hardcore. She seems fearless to me - not only in the way she skis, but also she was the only woman in X games Real Ski and that takes some courage. I'd love to do hot laps around her home resort with her and follow her around off side hits and jib around.

What is your biggest fear or achilles heel?

Generally, I like to take calculated risks but I'm not all that reckless. I love flipping off of cliffs because I'm in control but I'm pretty scared of something like cliff jumping because there are so many uncontrollable factors.

What's your favorite place you've ever traveled for your sport OR the place you want to go the most?

The coolest place I've been to ski is Mt. Hood! I would love to go to JAPAN for the obvious sushi and bottomless powder reasons.

If you weren't an incredible athlete, what would you be?

I've always wanted to be a rockstar, I've just never quite had the talent...

What is your favorite SMITH product and why?

I love the Squad MAGS and the 4D MAGs. The interchangeable lenses on both of those goggles work so well to quick release and change from a storm lens to sun. Also, the 4D MAGs are amazing on the resort because they give you extra peripheral vision to see everyone skiing nearby you.

If you could have one super power, what would it be?

My superpower would be to get injured and be able to heal completely a few minutes afterwards while still being able to feel pain.
