Mountain Bike Goggles

What makes the best MTB goggles for mountain trails?

The best MTB goggles combine clear, contrast-boosting lenses with a fit that stays secure through drops and rough terrain. Look for ChromaPop™ lenses to spot roots, ruts, and changing light, anti-fog performance for climbs and slow sections, and a fit that integrates with your helmet's venting to keep lenses clear.

Should I wear MTB goggles or sunglasses for mountain biking?

Goggles aren't required for mountain biking, but they offer more coverage against dirt and debris than sunglasses do, along with a tighter seal that blocks peripheral light and grit. Sunglasses are lighter and better ventilated, which makes them a good fit for cross-country riding or long climbs. For higher-intensity riding like downhill or enduro, goggles are the better call.

How do MTB goggles integrate with a bike helmet?

Smith Optics goggles are designed to pair with the AirEvac ventilation system in Smith Optics MTB helmets. Goggles and glasses fog when standard helmets trap warm, moist air around your eye area, so AirEvac pulls that warm air away from your face and out through the helmet's vents, keeping your lenses clear. The visor also adjusts for easy goggle storage between laps, so you're not stuck holding them.
