Photochromic is a game changer!

"These are hands down the best ski goggles I’ve ever owned. Photochromic technology is a game changer. The lenses transition quickly when moving in and out of the shadows. On a sunny bluebird day, the lenses darkened perfectly. I never found myself wishing they were darker or lighter at any time, which was one of my biggest worries with photochromic. I experienced no fogging, but conditions weren’t conducive to developing fogging, so I’ll reserve the right to re-review if fogging is ever an issue in the future. Only downsides that I can see, so far, are the lack of a hard case, which is mind boggling for a $305 pair of goggles, and the faint SMITH lettering on the lenses, which I thought might have been a protective film on the lenses, but I couldn’t find a place to peel anything off. I could only see the lettering faintly when the lenses were in the dark, and the writing disappears after the lenses transition in normal daylight conditions. Oh, they also come with a pair of low light lenses, but I can’t imagine ever needing them, outside of night skiing. Love these goggles, and will never buy another pair of non-photochromics ever again!"

Cheap design & poor documentation

"This was my first pair with swappable lenses, but what is included is horrible. I had to google and watch a youtube to figure it out. Also the plastic clip that attaches to the strap to tighten the fit is cheap plastic on cheap plastic. Unlike their earlier models the plastic at the end is less than 1/8 inch, which popped out when Inpulled the strap. Nothing like dropping on all fours to find cheap plastic. Frustrating because if you pop out the clip while skiing, you’d have to use a safety pin and then submit a warranty claim, these are one of their most expensive goggles, but manufactured so cheap. Really disappointed. Used to me better."

Outstanding service by Smith, USA

"I wrote to Smith USA as I had an issue with a earlier pair of Smith goggles and could not get satisfaction from the retailer where I had purchased them. Julie from Smith went above and beyond with her kind and professional service. I had a new pair delivered to my door in Canada within a few days. The goggles are great, especially in flat light. But it was the service that was accorded to me that was outstanding and will definitely make me go to Smith for their products in future. Thank you Smith, USA"
