Reviews

Revising my previous review

"I warrantied my previous Summit, I had some issues with the BOA system detaching. I had a defective helmet. The new one is good so far. It's comfortable and light and the BOA harness is holding strong. Like others have stated, it would be nice if there was a system for securing a helmet strap but I suppose the goal is to save weight."

Fit!!

"The advancements in helmet tech is impressive. Best helmet i have ever purchased. Bought IT for my kid and now i want one. Check out the videos its also super safe and cutting edge"

Theresa M. (5/5)

Terrible BOA harness

"The helmet looks cool and is light. The BOA system is absolutely terrible. I tried to adjust it, as I have done with many BOA helmets over the years. The BOA harness mounts with these tiny little nubs that insert into this little plastic plate with holes in it. There are 4 holes and 2 nubs, allowing for up and down adjustment. I popped the harness out of the holes easy enough but now they do not snap back in and just fall right back out. I've tried many times to get them to snap back and the few times they feel as if they have, I put the helmet on and the harness pops right back out. I only buy Smith products. I sell ski and equipment and I will only recommend Smith goggles and helmets but I do not feel like I can rely on this helmet to keep me safe."

Zip Ties to use as a goggle retention device

"Agree with the comments about not including a goggle strap retention device on the helmet. But was able to use 2 zip ties to provide the retention needed. Overall a very good helmet and would purchase again."

Wes W. (4/5)

Nice Lid

"Not too hot, plenty of room for a thin hat"

Caleb C. (5/5)

Summit mips helmet

"Simple helmet, lightweight, great for touring and for resort"

Shea K. (5/5)

Great option for those who run hot!

"Great lightweight option for high output/those of us that run hot! I don't love insulated helmets, as I always run some sort of face/head wear. Loving this helmet for resort riding! All the protection, none of the insulation I don't want."

Kyle P. (5/5)

missing one key feature

"More comfortable than expected. This is almost the perfect helmet for me. One BIG question though,Why is there nothing to secure goggles? The average person who buys this helmet is paying for there goggles. Not willing to lose my $300-$400 goggles in the back country. I ended up going with the Oakley Mod BC which is not as nice for sure but has a goggle bungee. I"

This thing is excellent. Have

"This thing is excellent. Have tried other helmets for ski mountaineering/BC skiing and this is by far my favorite. The fold-down Boa thing is awesome. The fit is perfect. The versatility is great - it fits well with a beanie, beanie plus hat, or nothing."

Andrew W. (5/5)

Tech but also simple!

"The fit is excellent, the simplicity is right where it should be. My only gripe is that there should be a goggle hook on the back. For sure there is going to be a tomahawk where the goggles will fly off."
