Clifton James "CJ" Hobgood Is a professional surfer from Satellite Beach, Fl. CJ started surfing at the age of six and worked his way through the ranks earning a spot on the Elite tour in 1999, he won rookie of the year this year. In 2001 he won the World Surfing Title. By 2015 he would also have 4 elite tour victories under his belt and many other qualifying series wins. CJ is most known for his skill in big waves, such as cloud break in Fiji and Teahupo'o in Tahiti. CJ retired in December 2015 from professional surfing after 17 years on tour and spends his time with his 3 young daughters Genevieve, Mia and Bowie and his wife Cortney. He also is co-owner of an apparel brand Salty Crew, spends his time in marketing, sales and of course still surfs. Background: Good ole boy. Passion: God, family, surfing, fishing, in that order. Personality: Laid back non confrontational positive smile on the dial and all that stuff everyone else says. Other Interests: Friends, people.
