Session Mips® - Past Season

My group at work has been using the Smith Session for 5+ years. They’re incredible helmets. They saved one rider’s life in a 17mph crash and the Session cracked through, but no damage to the rider. The Session is also extremely comfortable and we will continue to use the Session as long as it is in production.

I bought this helmet at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately I tested the helmet in real life when a cyclist hit me from behind and we both went down hard on gravel. The helmet definitely protected my head -- the other rider didn't have the Mips system and had a concussion. I immediately reordered the same helmet.

I,ve several Smith mtn bike helmets over the years. The Sessions is by far my favorite. The fit system and breath ability is really nice. I go for the lighter colors to help keep me cooler. Really happy to be a Smith team rider.

I like this helmet. I got the "High Fives" graphic, which looks good to me. I did not reallize that it doesn not have a place to store eyewear. This is important to me in a helmet and I would not have bought this one had I realized it. But now I have it, I like it very much otherwise, and I'm figuring out other places to store eyewear (usually when climbing and heating up). It fits well, it's comfortable, it seems well made and of high quality materials.

The helmet itself is excellent and comfy. However, it runs really big compared to the sizing chart. I bought a medium and it was way too big. I, in turn, bought a small and it is cinched down to the smallest setting. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to return the medium as it was a closeout item so now I have one for the price of two. Thought I was getting a good deal ;(

Fits quite well. Comfortable for long 2-3 hour rides. The only issue is that the padding gets soaked with sweat pretty quickly.

Use this helmet every week during my rides. Super light weight and true to size if you wear their snow sport helmets. Overall would recommend great product.

Smith Optics Session saved me from bad spill on a paved trail. Lost control of the bike when it hit the edge of the pavement and the wet grass. Ended up face down on the pavement and helmet prevented my face from hitting the asphalt. I sustained abrasions to various other parts of my body but my head & face were ok no damage. Helmet visor sustained minor damage. Thank you Smith Optics for making such great helmets

Mip helmut

I got this orange helmet to complement another MTB helmet specifically for hunting season in Pennsylvania. I like it so much it has become my "go-to" every ride. The improved chin strap fits me perfectly and offers increased adjustability. This was key to my purchase.

Finally upgraded to a MIPS mountain bike helmet, happy with this one so far. Only downside is my older Smith sunglasses to not store on the helmet as advertised.

Great helmets

I bought a Fox speed frame and the session mips in the same week, I find the Smith helmet has better air flow and is more comfortable, but when it came in the mail the visor was slightly crooked in the lowest position.

Love this helmet! I bought for my children after I’ve crashed in them a few times, and they’ve saved my noggin.

This is my second Sessions helmet because I liked the first so much and wanted another colorway. It has a secure fit, good ventilation, and good protection. Years ago I suffered a traumatic brain injury in an accident and I now take my helmet choices very seriously. I also own the Forefront 2 model with rear Koroyd that I wear for more aggressive/fast trails.

Fits like a worn glove! I ride Smith helmets and glasses for all my cycling disciplines, they all fit well. I forget that I’m wearing them. Style and colors are always spot on,

Helmet

It's light, fits well, and looks great. It feels like a super high-end helmet but doesn't cost as much as the super high-end helmets.

I have worn it 3x so far and I really like it. It is very comfortable that I at times forget I have a helmet on.

I'm super satisfied with my session mips, the comfort and adjustability is really next level. Air flow is better than expected. Very happy with Smith helmets.

I received my helmet for Christmas and thought it fit. When I I tried it on the trail, it was too big. Smith DID let me send it back to purchase the smaller size. Thank you Smith!! Super happy with the fit, the lightweight, the visor and style. Perfect for both my mountain bike and road bike.
