Survey Mips®

bought this for coastal norther California bike riding, and like it a lot. Weather is cool and it keeps my head warm. The eye cover provides excellent vision with very wide view, and keeps the pollen at bay, which serves my needs. comfortable. I would recommend.

Had this helmet for 2 seasons. Last season was limited due to lack of snow. I wear glasses and this is the first solution I have tried that works well. I had big goggles with and without fans and glasses would still fog. This solution allows enough airflow that glasses never fog up. Also, the glasses fit better under the visor than they did with the big goggles.

This is a very comfortable helmet that fits my head perfectly due to the crank in the back. The visor system fits over my glasses and the lense works great for night and day riding. It's very warm, and has a lot of ventilation that can be opened up if required. I noticed that while I was getting face shots while riding powder I had a bit of snow penetrate the peripheral of the visor.

The XL is perfectly sized for big heads. Warm and comfortable. Love having goggle ma built in and the Aleck audio system is a must.

I love my Survey Helmet and everything about it. But not the lens! I need a clear lens because I have Transition Glasses. So my Glasses turn dark and I need a Clear Lens. The Replacement Clear Lens for Survey Helmets have been Out Of Stock since last year. I submitted my name to be contacted when it is in stock. Never happened last year. Trying agin this year. Great product if I could only get a clear lens!!!

Winter inevitably comes. Along with it is the need to continue riding the bike. The classic summer bike helmet just doesn't work in the wintertime as it's just too full of holes for ventilation. Enter the Smith Survey Snow helmet. It has enough ventilation to keep the visor from fogging, but not enough to make your head cold. It has better protection than ANY bike helmet. It keeps your ears warm without blocking exterior sounds. The flip up visor allows you to lift it up when needed even if you wear glasses like I do. The bright white color provides good riding visibility. In short, it's the best winter bike helmet I have found so far. Thanks, SMITH

I bought the Smith Survey Mips to serve as a winter bicycle helmet as the bicycle industry apparently does not consider bicycling to be a winter activity. The Smith Survey serves very well for this purpose. The visor fits well over my glasses and lets just enough air in from the sides to keep both my glasses and the visor from fogging up. When it rains I close the air vents and I stay dry headed unless it's really pouring, but for the most part my head stays dry. Also when it's forty degrees outside the visor keeps my eyes from getting blasted with cold air that otherwise would obstruct my vision. The ear warmers work very well for bicycling but don't block the sounds of traffic at all. In short the Smith Survey is a great winter bike helmet.

So far so good. Old helmet was a smith. Why mess with a good thing. Stick to what works.

Wind Blockage could use more foam on the bottom of the lens.

I would like the helmet more if I could be able to change lens. What do I do when and if it becomes damaged?

Excellent fit and face coverage. This works great with glasses and provides a full field of view .

I love the helmet. Fits great with or without a balaclava or neck gaiter. The vents function perfect for adapting to changing temperatures

I recently purchased the new helmet visor combo. I rode it in variable conditions including a big powder day. I have sinus issues and was looking for a solution to have less pressure from goggles on my face. The that manor the product worked great. The only challenges i had were on a big powder day. Due to the goggles not connecting securely to the face it had a tendency to get more snow that i would like. It did clear out easily. In less powdery conditions they worked great. I like the product but will probalbly return to my normal set up on big snow days.

I wear glasses! I bought this hoping I wouldn’t get fogged up anymore. Yes, I no longer have fogged glasses. Yes, it fits small. I wear medium and bought a large. Yes, try it on and make sure it fits your face and glasses. Yes, the product is comfortable Yes, I ski in Tahoe, during some bad storms this year it worked well. Yes, smith has a great warranty and support. No, Yes, some snow might get in between you helmet and forehead. Wear a thin head covering. Yes, it doesn’t seal perfectly around your face like goggles. Yes, replacement visors are a thing if you can find them. Yes, smith seems to struggle with supply chain for replacement lenses.

Love the photochromatic lens. Super light helmet barely feels it is on. I added the Aleck nunchucks and it sounds great. A couple of improvements points. (a better protection for the lens when stowed away, maybe a whole helmet rigid case or a rigid cover for the lens. Also, the earmuffs out pressure on the ears when using with the audio system.

Lens fogs up easily and is hard to wipe. I LOVE the flip down design!

The goggles don’t click easily down and hold in position. I do like the transition or graduated lenses

Pretty close to perfect. Clear vision. Good range of view. Seems like a quality product. Figuring out different ways to adjust helmet so goggles tighten to face.

Super comfy, warm, great vents, and enough space to either wear a thin hat/buff underneath with lots of adjustment.
