Bike Sunglasses, Helmets & Gear Built For Every Mile
The best bike sunglasses keep your eyes shielded and your view sharp. Smith Optics lenses do that through wind, sun, and the changing light as you move from open road into tree cover. ChromaPop™ lenses bring out color and contrast so the trail comes through in detail, while polarized and PhotoChromic options handle glare and adjust as conditions change.
Smith Optics helmets and eyewear are designed to work together. Goggle straps lock into a channel across the back of the helmet, visors adjust for easy storage, and AirEvac ventilation pulls warm air away from your face and lenses to keep your view clear. Cycling goggles open up your field of view for fast descents, and many pair with Smith Optics helmets, so nothing crowds your line of sight down the trail.
Smith Optics replacement lenses let you get more out of the frames you already own. Swap in a different ChromaPop™ tint for different conditions, upgrade to polarized for glare-heavy days, or refresh a pair that's seen a few too many trails. It’s an easy way to adapt your setup without starting from scratch.

Foire aux questions
Do I need sunglasses for cycling?
Cycling sunglasses protect your eyes in ways that everyday shades don't. They block wind, dust, bugs, and UV, and they're shaped to stay put over rough ground so you're not pushing them up mid-descent. The lenses also sharpen contrast on the road or trail, which helps you read terrain and spot hazards earlier.
How do I choose the right pair?
Choose Smith Optics cycling sunglasses based on three things: lens type, coverage, and fit. For bright roads and reflective surfaces, polarized lenses help reduce glare. For rides that move between sun and shade, PhotoChromic lenses automatically adjust to changing light conditions. ChromaPop™ lens technology enhances contrast and detail across a wide range of lens options, helping you see terrain, obstacles, and changing conditions more clearly.
Next, look for a wraparound design that provides wider coverage from sun, wind, and debris. Finally, choose a secure, no-slip fit that stays comfortable on long rides and rough terrain.
What is ChromaPop™, and does it help on the bike?
ChromaPop™ is Smith Optics’ lens technology that makes color and contrast pop, so detail comes through sharper. On the bike, that means roots, ruts, rocks, and changes in the trail surface stand out more clearly, giving you more time to react. It's available across Smith Optics bike sunglasses.
How should cycling eyewear fit?
Cycling eyewear should sit snug and stay put without pinching. They should grip lightly at the nose and temples so they don't slide when you sweat or bounce on rough trail, with enough coverage to block wind and sun from the sides. If a pair shifts when you look down, it's not the right fit. Not sure how a frame will sit? Use the virtual try-on to see how different shapes look on your face before you order.
Can I wear Smith Optics sunglasses with a helmet?
Yes. Smith Optics helmets and eyewear are built for ultimate integration. Eyewear temples slide into channels on the sides of the helmet for secure storage on climbs, and AirEvac ventilation pulls warm air away from your lenses to prevent fogging. If you ride with goggles, the goggle strap locks into a dedicated channel across the back of the helmet, so nothing shifts on descents.
Can I get Smith Optics bike sunglasses or goggles in my prescription?
Yes. Smith Optics offers prescription sunglasses with ChromaPop™ lenses, so you can get the same clarity and contrast in a frame built for your vision. For cycling, the ODS5 Rx Adapter snaps into the nose piece of our performance shield sunglasses, maintaining a full field of view without a separate pair underneath. For goggles, the GRX Prescription Goggle Adapter works across all Smith Optics’ goggle models. Add your Rx during checkout to get started.
Do Smith Optics bike sunglasses come with a warranty?
Yes. Smith Optics sunglasses carry a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects, as determined by Smith. It covers defects in materials and workmanship, but not scratches, accidental damage, normal wear, or products bought from unauthorized sellers. To stay covered, buy from SmithOptics.com or an authorized dealer.
When should you replace your bike helmet?
Replace your helmet after any significant impact, even without visible damage. The foam inside compresses on impact and won't protect the same way twice. Beyond crashes, most manufacturers recommend replacing helmets every three to five years due to normal wear and material degradation.
