Reviews

"Helmet is super comfortable and light. I initially wanted this helmet but opted for a cheaper one. Didnt like the one I received so I pulled the trigger on this. Very glad I did. I know im gettng top notch protection and it looks and feels great!"

The Best Helmet I've Ever Worn!

"I'm always on the fence between a medium size and a large size. I went for the large size and it adjusted great for my head. It's very comfortable and lightweight. I haven't tested the impact features, but they appear to be substantial!"

Love It

"For those with a larger round shaped head, this helmet fits like a glove. Was a bit skeptical on how the boa system would work but it works great. Overall, definetly would recommend this helmet."

Don't break your visor!!

"Pros - well ventilated. Lightweight. Cons - the Boa system is very narrow and pinches the sides of your head - so either the helmet is too loose or the Boa cords pinch the sides of your head. The helmet fits too low on the forehead (I tried adjusting it six ways from Sunday to make it fit right) and thus limits use of larger coverage sunglasses. VERY expensive at full retail. Biggest downside is that Smith will not sell you a new visor if you break yours. I broke the clips on the visor (not a warranty issue) and asked if I could purchase a new one. I was told that Smith will not sell the visor alone. So I'm left with a useless helmet or have to shell out another $300. Poor support. Will not be purchasing from Smith again."

Bake B. (1/5)

"This helmet looks sick and fits like a dream. The new MIPS Air Node system is very neat, hopefully I don’t test that out any time soon, and the Boa system for adjusting fit works very smoothly, and drops back into the helmet for transport and placing on tables. Over all this matches the Smith gold standard to a T."

Glasses Storage Issues

"Bought the Forefront 3 after loving the 2 for years - my favourite feature and main reason for repurchase specifically was the glasses storage on top of the helmet. The new Forefront 3 however is stretching out my riding glasses when placed on top and now they slide down my face while descending. Something must have changed in the shape of the glasses storage on top. Helmet size is small, so this might be specific to small sized faces/glasses. Super incredibly bummed by this. Not interested in the front of helmet storage as I find you can see the frame and it's distracting. Helmet is comfy but cannot recommend this helmet anymore. Especially given the price :("

Great Helmet

"Perfect fit with the adjustments, not bulky and almost weightless."

Bob B. (5/5)

The most comfortable bike helmet

"The most comfortable bike helmet I have owned. Thank you"

Adjustable visor is the weak point

"I've had this helmet for a year and bought it in anticipation to a move where I can do some real trail riding. It was definitely comfortable, and I loved that I could quickly adjust the visor depending on how much air flow I wanted. Slogging uphill in the cold I would increase the air flow, and on long downhills afterward I would reduce the cold air going over my head. However, in just five months of semi-regular riding, both of the pegs on the inside of the visor that lock it into one of three positions snapped. $275 when I bought it a year ago, it's already toast. The visor will no longer stay put. Just too much money for this kind of weak point. I'd hoped that spending $100 extra on a helmet would pay off. Without the visor it makes a good road cycling helmet, but I don't do that kind of riding anymore."

"Very happy with the Fit system! It's comfortable and breaths well!"
