Great for Backcountry Skiing

"I purchased these sunglasses a year ago and have been very happy with them! They are the first sunglasses with side shields that I can climb with and not have fog up. The ChromaPop Glacier Photochromic Copper To Gray With Blue Mirror gets plenty dark for a sunny day on snow and they get less dark for skiing through the trees."

FOGY

"Fits well, looks great but! This is my third pair of Smith goggles, and I’ve never had this issue before. I’m not sure if there is a defect with this particular pair, but they fog up a lot. I use them for ski touring, and during the very first ascent they completely iced over within about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the same thing happened every time I tried them afterward. Because of this, they are difficult to use in real ski touring conditions."

Awful Warrant Process

"Purchased these from authorized online retailer and tried on. They sat crookedly on my face and I checked the nose piece and it arrived broken. Smiths just needs to send me a new nose piece and it’s been radio silence for 2 weeks. Premium brands I’m used to have much more respect and alacrity than this company. When I reach out they just tell me to wait. I bought these glasses for snowboarding and now, with a very dry and high temp winter in Utah, may miss my window to use this season."

"Everything about these glasses are exactly what you’d want and expect, except for the price. Glad I got them on sale. Undoubtably a 5 star product"

They do the job

"I got these because I get dry eyes and needed a "goggle" that wasn't a pair of goggles. These to a great job of blocking air without getting your eyes sweaty. Field of view is ok, you can see the blinders (the removable plastic side flaps) on the sides, but they're not in the way. I had previously purchased the Embark model that also has those side flaps, and hated them. They blocked a good amount of side view, but not these. I got the photochromic version and they seem to do ok in varying lighting conditions. I do wish the lenses were easier to clean. You can't use lense cleaner and whatever is on the surface of these lenses makes wiping with a microfiber cloth hard because of the friction. You can't easily wipe them. I don't know if it's only the photochromic lenses that do this. The only bad thing is the plastic flaps are very difficult to remove, you may end up breaking one. I carefully pryed them off and squeezed the plastic nubs, slightly with pliers, to make them narrower. Now they are easy to remove. People like them. I've been complimented twice. Not my cup of tea, but I wear them for the protection."

Smith does it again.

"Daily driver. The colorchanging lens is a game (color)changer. Hardcharging days as an enviromental nonprofit employee and deep sessions of dad lifing have tested these glasses to the max. Nose guard is the future, ask the dermatologist. I don't need any more."

Ashton W. (5/5)

Great eye protection

"These are great sunglasses for any activity outdoors that you want good protection and zero side eye distractions. So these are not good for driving etc."

Best shades for high output

"These shades offer fantastic coverage but so do a lot of other models from Smith and others, what sets the Pursuit apart is how well they vent! I bought these primarily for backcountry skiing as part of my years long search for the perfect eyewear. This sport is tough because you need something that will protect your eyes from intense sun exposure at all angles and in high winds, but will also vent well on the demanding uphill sections, all in a lightweight package that will be comfortable wearing all day long, even in low light conditions. That’s a lot to ask and it’s why I have accumulated 12 different sunglasses and goggles. I think my search may be over though. The pursuit is the first shades I’ve used that offer goggle-level coverage with sun glasses level venting. I am a big time sweater and really crank out some heat on the way up the skin track to the point that I have been able to fog up every pair of goggles or shades I’ve tried, except the Pursuit! I use them even in the offseason for trail runs and they’re great, no bouncing despite all that great coverage. The lens is also super responsive and can be used in very low light. Really can’t find anything wrong with them, even style wise as large as they are for someone with a medium sized face like me they look good."

These are amazing

"I don’t normally write reviews unless I really like something. These pursuits are my favorite glasses I’ve ever worn. The variable light lens is amazing. I have worn these on glacier, snow, dark, forest etc. They transition quickly and adapt to whatever conditions you’re in. I love them because you can be out in bright sunlight but when you get back to tree line and it darkens the sunglasses lighten up. They are so comfortable on my face which allows me to forget that they’re on. They are very large but that’s the style I prefer. They don’t let any light in around the frames like my wildcats do. They do really provide goggle- like coverage. If you’re on the fence, just get them."

Giant, Awesome

"I bought these behemoths a few years ago and can attest to their durability (for the most part). The photochromatic lenses are unstoppable. I use them on glaciers and in the sun, and early morning hikes. They don’t fog and the visibility is unbeaten. The only thing I would change is to beef up the pin that holds the lanyard - after several months of regular use, especially if you remove the lanyard often, the pins/holes get worn out and pop out too easily. Also, I have a giant head and face, and these fit perfect."
