Would be five stars if you could get them repaired or purchase replacement lenses. Buyer beware, if you break em there’s nothing they can do for you.

I have had 3 pair of the Smith Guides Choice. Great sunglasses for outdoor work and a variety of activities. I recently bought the XL. Bigger is better if they fit your melon. Chroma-Pop is awesome as usual.

Great sun glasses, Smith products have always a solid purchase. Lost my last pair in the river, so had to pick up a new pair.

The lenses on my Guides delamed after about 8 years of use. Concerned that I obviously had no record of purchase from that far back, I went ahead with the online warranty claim. Long story short, It was of no concern. I filed the claim on Monday morning, and received my replacements on Friday with my only out of pocket cost being the Tax and Shipping. 100% positive experience, with both the product and service from Smith.

Narrow nose bridge, glasses not as wide as others for my big head. High quality nonetheless, and the lenses are amazing

Nathan K

Love the slightly larger frame of the Guude Choice XL. Helped with the fogging issues I was having with the regular Guide Choice on those sweltering summer days on the water. Clarity of the lenses is second to none!

Matt E

Great glasses. Always incredible customer service from Smith!

Top rated fly fishing glasses game changer! Been a Smith customer for over 20 years and these hit the mark and all aspects of the water. Highly recommend.

Hello. . . my favorite glasses were the chambers in polarized, mirror blue lenses. . . rubber nose rests fell out,,, and ended up having to get replacements. The guides choice are nice,,,, but don't fit my face like the Chambers I had. I tried the Redding 2,,, those would b3 nice in an XL size. . . just my thoughts for a better fit for me. .

I upgraded to the glass lenses with the green tent. Love the clarity and glare deflection these provide. Smith will always be my go to in sunglasses.

So good that it's my second pair. Large frame, total protection. Really liked

As someone with very light sensitive eyes I've spent 50 years looking for the perfect sunglasses. For the last 8 years I've had a pair of Smith Dragstrips that I thought were the best sunglasses I had ever worn. When they broke I found out they were no longer available and decided to get the Guide's Choice XL as a replacement. These are even better. They shield out almost all light from the edges, sit comfortably on my head and their lightweight makes them almost unnoticeable when they're on. My eyes are happy. Why then only 4 stars? My dragstrips broke in half at the nose bridge when they were dropped on the ground. The plastic frames were visibly aging after 8 years, the surface was showing classic signs of plastic embrittlement. But I have plastic framed reading glasses that are decades old and show no sign of plastic aging. I have Ray-Ban sunglasses that are 10+ years old that show no sign of plastic aging. I even have a pair of Bolle sunglasses that I pad about $50 for that are 10+ years old that show no sign of aging and were recently dropped on the ground with no ill effects, so materials that age well are available. But these XLs seem to be made of the same plastic as the Dragstrips so I have no confidence that they will age any better. A $300 pair of sunglasses should last forever with proper care, Smith needs to do better when it comes to frame longevity.

Fit a larger face great and the Chromapop lens is fantastic. Been with Smith for over 20 years and won't use anything else.

Dennis B

The reds and green pop, even as the sunglasses shield my eyes. And the glasses are light.

Best I’ve ever owned. I now have two pair.

Andy M

All good , thank you for your service. Fast and complete

Dustin K

Best Low light lenses on the market. Fit well and cover sides of eyes.

SUSAN C

Great quality at a reasonable price. The fit is perfect for me.

I have the Guides Choice XL with the Blue Polarchromic lenses. I also have the Hookset with the same Blue Polarchromic lenses. Both are excellent glasses for fishing. The Guides Choice XL are a little better for me on the water because the frames eliminate every possible bit of the glare and nothing even comes in from the sides. With the Hookset’s you still get just a bit of light and glare from the sides. Nothing unbearable, but you do see it. I spend around 8 hours on the water in a kayak fishing, and at the end of the day my eyes are not tired at all. If you are buying these for fishing I would go with the Guides Choice because of the extra blockage, but if you are just looking for daily glasses I think the Hookset is a better choice. They are noticeably smaller on your face and lighter.

Derek D

Runs large even for my large head. Doesn’t feel as sturdy as the price.

Keaton S

Love them, I got XLs because I generally have a big head. These were larger than I anticipated. I have to wear croakies or they fall off very easily (I do anyway so no biggie). Plus side is they don’t hurt above my ears nearly as much as normal glasses when I’m fishing for ~12 hours. That said I’m realistically the normal size in these so might be a good idea to measure or try on. Otherwise they are great!

Harold G

Excellent sunglasses for low light conditions. Vibrant color and exceptional clarity. Great for fishing due to polarization properties and large coverage.

Carlos U

Best sunglasses i have ever owned; great quality and the XL's are heavier, better lens. I would certainly buy again.

Josh

Hands down the best glass lenses I’ve used in sports focused eyewear to this point. These sunglasses are surprisingly lightweight, clarity is awesome, and they come with an integral lanyard to keep them from hitting the deck! Really hoping I don’t manage to lose these like so many other pair of glasses but if I do, I’ll be back.

Jeffrey G

Great!

Timothy S

I paid for express shipping on 4/25 and it’s now 5/21 and I have yet to receive my order. I have sent emails and reached out to Customer Service and can’t get a straight answer.

Thomas Z

These are my number one go to every day Fishing and outdoor sun glasses. Light and very comfortable.

frank h

Good lens Looking for nose bridge or pads for betterr fit.

Adam

This is mostly a sizing review immediately after unboxing. Typically XL sunglasses in Oakley, Spy, or Electric are almost too big for my head. These barely fit, bordering on too small. The hinges have some give to them and so I think they will still be comfortable wearing them for hours at a time. Optically, they looked amazing when trying them on, but I didn’t get the chance to test them on the water yet. If you’ve got a big head, measure these against a pair you like before ordering. I can’t imagine how small the non-XL version is.
