What's New in the Vantage 2?

When the Vantage launched in 2010, it was the first of its kind. The most ventilated hybrid shell to ever hit the market, its comfort and low-profile design quickly gained fans. Now, one of our best just got better. The Vantage 2 is built to perform across every condition, and the upgrades are sure to turn heads.
A Three-Piece Hybrid Shell
The Vantage 2 features a PC/ABS hard shell, combined with an ABS hard shell and a PC in-mold, to create a helmet shell that is lighter with reinforced impact zones where you need them most.
Design Engineer Troy Zeuske explains, “We went with the tri-shell construction to really be able to tune shell material and stiffness for different impact zones. This created our most complex helmet to date, but allowed us a ton of freedom in the testing process to make it exactly how we wanted to.”

After upgrading the shell construction, we doubled down and increased the zonal Koroyd® in the Vantage to full Koroyd coverage, all housed within this tri-shell construction.
40 Vents
The Vantage 2 is our most ventilated helmet yet, with 40 vents for maximum airflow. This increase in ventilation amounts to 34% more vented surface area. We also updated the shutter system on the vents. The original Vantage had two vent zones you could open or close, the front and the back. Now the Vantage 2 has two zones, but they’re the top and the sides, allowing for a quicker cool down when the vents are open. When the vents are closed, the Vantage 2 retains heat for longer compared to the original Vantage.
“We thought a lot about why and when people shutter their helmets,” said Zeuske. “It comes down to a combination of keeping snow out while exhausting hot air. We switched to a simple open/closed for the top vents to operate when the snow is really coming down, and then we designed a 3-position system on the side vents so that you have a ton of control over your temperature.”
Details that Make the Day Better
Vantage 2 has a Fidlock strap buckle for easy one-handed operation even when you’re wearing gloves, and Aleck-compatible ear pads so you can listen to music and stay connected with your crew on the mountain.
When it came to fit, we took all of the experience and feedback we’ve gotten since the original Vantage came out and dialed in the fit to align more closely with the other helmets in our lineup. It also has the same BOA® 360 Fit System as the original, which offers the most adjustable fit with the turn of a dial for on-the-fly micro-adjustability.
The Vantage 2 has been over a decade in the making, and we can’t wait for you to bring it along on your next adventure and let us know what you think.
