Lowdown XL 2

Man these have been my go to for a couple years now, from rock climbing, sailing, even working as an arborist. Theses glasses have held up, I wore these about everyday working, dropping them from the tops of trees, branches hitting them, constant aerial debris and they held up. However I keep losing them :(

These are the best sunglasses I’ve ever owned. The XL size is perfect for me and I like the matte tortoise texture bc it doesn’t slide down my face when I’m sweaty. The polarization is top notch and the lenses don’t scratch easily. You can tell they’re good quality in every detail. I’ve had them for over 6 years now and they’re still going strong. 10/10.

The Lowdown 2 is a bit tighter fit than the original Lowdown but that works perfect for me. Why I took away the 1 star was because i purchased Matte Black + ChromaPop Glass Polarized Black Lens, but the lens is actually has a BLUE tint when looking through it so its not a actual black len.

Love the glasses themselves, the lenses could be a bit darker. I’m not a fan of being able to see my eyes but man are they clear!!

Love the glasses and the chromapop is great. My only issue I have with them is the description says VLT 10-66%. In my opinion that isn’t correct… I’ve been wearing 14VLT glasses for the past 2 years and even in direct sunlight the photochromic lenses don’t get close to the level of darkness my other ones did. My eyes are sensitive and these are great for cloudy days but aren’t dark enough for bright sunny days.

Need an option for the bronze or gold lens with black or tortoise frames.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE GOLD LENS AND BLACK FRAME, PLEASE!!

Would be nice if you can mix match the lenses

The glasses themselves are decent. Frames are really lightweight especially when compared to some other brands like costa or ray ban. The lenses scratch fairly easily for being touted as a brand that is all about adventure and extreme sports. They also only came with a soft pouch for carrying. Honestly these days for the price being north of 200, in my opinion they should’ve added a hard case. Kinda weak for that. Otherwise the fit is nice and they’re comfortable to wear.

Great quality and design.

These are great glasses, Lowdown XL 2 mate grey marble. Wow. They fit just as specified, the lenses are large but that’s what I was looking for. It reminds me of the 70’s - 80’s large style glasses they used to wear but with a modern frame style. The pattern which it’s very cool is more of a dabbed sponge impression rather than marble veins. Matte grey frame with matte black dabs. Not too showy until you see them up close. Super light weight. The large lenses from the inside at the edges have a bit of a purple glint at angles. I don’t mind it though, looks kind of pretty. Otherwise the lenses are outstanding. Great glasses I will probably buy a back up.

I bought lowdown 2. Not lowdown xl 2. Anyway, I used caper chroma pop black before, and I've used them very well for over 5 years. But the new sunglasses are much better. I didn't know glass lenses could be this good. I hiked for about 3 hours on a sunny day, and my eyes felt much more comfortable than the glasses I used before. My right ear is higher than my left, and by coincidence, I didn't customize it, but my right leg is designed to be higher. Thank you God. Haha. Delivery took a long time, but I am very satisfied!

My second pair of Lowdowns. Best sunglasses I’ve ever had!

Bought these as replacements for my oakleys and these do not disappoint. As soon as I felt then I could tell they felt sturdy and durable. The blue polarized lenses with the chroma pop are phenomenal. I have never been able to garner the protection from the sun and still have clear eye sight. Showed these to a family member and he was going to switch immediately. I have a larger head and these fit great. Better than most Costas.

Great glasses. These are my second pair. I have a larger head and these fit well. They are made well and great lens clarity. One improvement that could be made is spring hinges similar to Costa glasses. Otherwise no complaints.

Beyond grateful for the quality of SMITH. The warranty and care that you receive when you purchase their products is incomparable to any other company. I’ve owned the Lowdown XLs for 10 years and can’t say enough about the timeless look. Having had the frame break (my fault) SMITH still understood how much I loved them and gave me a credit to purchase another pair!

Great glasses

I have this exact pair of glasses multiple times. I work fishing and sailing charters on the Caribbean Sea, and these lenses make my life much easier. Comfortable fit, great polarization, couldn’t ask for more out of a pair of chromopop sunnies.

These are great! I have owned several versions of the Outlier 2 XL. It was one of the only models that fit me (huge head). This model fits really well too and is actually a little larger, which is great. I like the more rounded shape too. These don’t have the rubber temple pads that always fell off the Outlier model, so that is a plus too.
