2/5 Stars: Proceed with Caution

"Let me save you some disappointment: the Smith Dominion RX frames look great in photos, but the reality doesn't hold up. Out of the box, the lenses were smudged and coated in dust; not exactly the unboxing experience you hope for with a premium product. And it didn't stop there. One of the arms had a visible defect near the hinge joint, with the plastic bent slightly backward in a way that immediately raised concerns about long-term durability. The design itself? No complaints there. It’s sharp, stylish, and well-proportioned. But style without substance only goes so far, especially when you're dropping $200. At this price, flawless quality control and pristine presentation should be the bare minimum, not an afterthought. Smith has a solid reputation, which makes these shortcomings all the more frustrating. As-is, the Dominion RX is a good-looking frame let down by poor craftsmanship and sloppy handling. Proceed with caution."

Affordable Style

"Great overall experience with Smith Optics! Always my first choice for prescription glasses and sunglasses over the eye doctor offerings. Frame and lens quality are fantastic and they have a good warranty if you ever have any issues. Get compliments/inquiries where I get my glasses almost daily."

Luke (5/5)

No help

"Ordered an RX version and received clear lenses with no prescription in the frames. Been a month and Smith has done nothing to mitigate the situation. 10/10 would not recommend"

Good value

"RX used to be offered consistently at fair and affordable price. Now you just have to wait for the sale to come, makes it a good value again."

Exactly what I’d hoped for

"Love the fit, the blue light blocking lens is great, and they look great (or so I’m told!) Shipped fast, packaged well, and came with a lens cloth as well as a glasses bag and zip up case. Really, how could it be any better?"

Jason (5/5)

Fit not great

"The style looks nice and the prescription is spot on, but the fit is wonky. The arms are way too long, they have a narrow width, and don’t stay on my nose well. I wish I could have tried them on before buying."

Great Quality, Poor Sizing

"This negative review isn't regarding the quality of the frames, lenses or quickness my order arrived. Those are all five stars. My gripe is the sizing of these frames. Smith doesn't provide a frame width measurement in the specifications and as I measure once they have arrived, it's roughly 132mm. My Etnias I'm replacing are closer to 138mm. The Smith frames are too narrow for my head and create uncomfortable pressure casuing headaches. I know that I should have tried them on at my optometrist, but they don't carry Smith. Out of good conscious, I'm not going to another doctor to try on their brands and not purchase from them. Lastly, because I bought this with a military discount, they are considered ""final sale"" and are none returnable. I'm keeping them for a backup now, but unfortunately have to buy a new everyday pair. Smith, if you actually read these, PLEASE ADD FRAME WIDTH TO YOUR MEASUREMENTS!"

Holly (2/5)

Lenses are NOT scratch resistant

"I'm on my third pair of Dominion glasses. I love the frames but the lenses in these glasses ARE A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! I have many pairs of the Smith fishing glasses with the glass lenses and they are impossible to scratch. These glasses are the complete opposite. I'm 2 weeks in on these $400 glasses and already 2 scratches. I have been treating then with extreme care ,but I WEAR them every day. Think twice before buying these."

Daniel (1/5)

Dominion rx

"The quality is really phenomenal. . unfortunately they are extremely small. . they are 54-17-145 which seems true. . unfortunately, the spring tensioned hinges pull towards your face extremely tight making them fit as snug as small size frames let alone medium or large(nowhere close to large). They are so tight it causes instant head pressure/ headache. . I've taken them to my optometrist who did her best to adjust them but was unable. She also affirmed that the size may be correct but fit extremely small because of the hinge design, she was shocked at how far and hard they pull towards face. . . I'm unable to wear my new glasses at all, try on before you buy. . buying a second pair because the first pair doesn't fit costs more than buying at a brick and mortar store."

Smith was great to work

"Smith was great to work with - used their sunglasses for decades but did not know they had an RX program. I talked with a smith rep at the 800 number that helped me think through fit and process. Ordering was a breeze and the glasses shipped within 48 hours! Awesome experience."
