Description

Mix up lightweight comfort and good looks with the Outsider Mix optical style. The injection molded front has megol nose pads and temple tips for comfort and quality you can feel. The Outsider Mix is a classic shape you can take anywhere from the classroom, to the office, to the street.

"The prescription is great. However, as previous reviews pointed out, the arms stretch out too much upon arrival. I solved the problem by attaching a croakies line retainer to both arm ends for a snug fit. Another option is to bend the adjustable temple ends far down almost all the way so that they go snug behind your ears to get a sturdy fit. The last resort is to adjust/bend the front of frame slightly at the nose bridge so the arms come in more."

Frames were very stretched out

"Glasses were in a stretched / extended position straight out of the box such that the glasses weren’t even close to fitting over my ears. Had to take them to a local store for fitting which temporarily solved the problem. Local store said the frames shouldn’t have been sent out when they were obviously stuck in a very open position. 2 weeks later the frame has returned to the stretched out position and is constantly slipping off face which will require a second trip for fitting and adjustment."

Great, not fan of photochromic

"Overall, very happy with these glasses, they fit very well, are durable, and lightweight. Exactly what I was looking for when deciding on active eyewear. However, I am disappointed in the photochromic lenses. When it's sunny, they are super helpful. However, when it's overcast, cloudy or low light conditions in the woods, they still tint dark, and I have to take them off. . . But in the end, i am really happy with the model, and am going to get another pair that are not photochromic."

"The glasses themselves are stylish and look great. A big concern for me was that even with the thin and light lenses at my prescription level, the thickness of the lenses caused the arms to splay outward. Which caused the width of the glasses to be such that they were too big for my face. My experience working with Smith to address this issue was fantastic. A customer rep named Zach T was absolutely magnificent in his customer service and genuine effort to help find a solution to my problem. My advice to Smith would be to have some information on how stronger prescriptions could influence fit, and add some general info on what type of glasses fit which types of faces best. Say you have a thin and long face, or a short and broad face, etc."
